Surrey Knights Junior B Hockey Team – 2021 – 22 Season Begins!
Optimism and hope remain high with the Knights this young season. The Knights added a new Head Coach from Kitchener Ontario, Andrew Liboiron who played a number of seasons in Junior in the early 2000’s and has World Championship experience with Team Canada in a sport with-out Ice. Andy brings details and energy that have injected a new youthful spirit. Previous Head Coach Gerry Leiper has moved to the GM position and will be helping guide Andy with his wisdom and legendary experience. The Knights have added two new assistant coaches with lots of experience Ryan Ross (Port Coquitlam Midget AAA Head Coach) and Keiran Liversage (Ridge Meadows Midget AAA) to their roster.
The Knights have added a number of solid prospects to their roster;
- Roman Wolynec is a gritty forward with speed, tenacity and a knack for scoring goals….look out for this guy!
- Liam Knotts is a tall Defenseman with the skill and agility to be a force in the league.
- DJ Cash is an up and coming Goaltender who knows how to stop the puck and looks cool under pressure.
- David Wang is a forward who previously played for Cowichan Valley Capitals with a stellar toe drag and a rocket of a shot.
- Braden Olsen is a Goaltender from Alberta who looks to be a bonified #1 Starter in this league.
- Tyson Williams a playmaking forward from Alberta who makes everyone better around him.
- Dalton Mackeigan is another forward from Alberta who does it all….goals and assists all around for Big Mac!
Add these players to the Core of the team; Brad Collins, Billy Thompson, Jake Thompson, Monty Uyeyama, Brandon Melsness, Henry Brawdy, Logan Earle, Darian Tamas & Rahul Sharma and the Knights look like they could be a force to recon with.
